Calvaria: Think of metalcore riffs with 80s arena rock influence.

Welcome to Metal Digest!

Please describe the band in a single sentence.

Think of metalcore riffs with 80s arena rock influence.

What’s your latest project and what are you working on right now?

Our most recent project is the upcoming release of our first single ‘Shadows Of A Thousand Years’. We’re very excited and can’t wait for everyone to hear it.

How do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?

As songwriters, all we can hope for is that everyone finds their own connection to the song. Although the lyrics for ‘Shadows Of A Thousand Years’ have some darker connotations it was written as a more optimistic outlook on the struggles life may throw.

Major influences: Who put you on this path?

We’re definitely influenced by modern metal and hard rock bands such as The Raven Age, Alter Bridge, Killswitch Engage, Architects, and the list goes on really. As well as having influence from various 80s bands too such as Dio, Whitesnake, Bon Jovi which I think shines through on some of our choruses.

If you had to flee the country as a band, where would you choose to live?

The Moon.

What’s the ‘wow factor’ that makes YOU decide which songs to keep, record and release?

The songs usually go through multiple changes but when we get it right it just sort of clicks and we can tell that it’s what we we’re going for and want it to sound like.

‘Shadows Of A Thousand Years’ was the first song we wrote for the band, it came together quite easily, and everything fit nicely.

What’s the most hilarious band memory you can think of?

One time we got locked out of the rehearsal studio so we had to rehearse outside, unplugged sat on the floor. Surprisingly it worked better than expected.

What would be the title of the band’s biography?

‘Shadows Of A Thousand Years’ is the same title as our new single (Which you should definitely listen to)

What’s the next milestone you’d like to achieve as a band?

Download Festival haha. Currently we just want to get as many gigs as possible since gigs are our absolute favourite thing to do. We want loads of people to hear our music and hopefully love it and want to stick around for more too. We have hopes that ‘Shadows Of A Thousand Years’ can reach out to a wide audience of rock and metal fans.
