In ‘The Book of Exodus’, Moses and the Israelites wander the desert for forty years. A group of bands who would not be phased by this are those old stoner bands as their red eyes and sun beaten skin show that they have become impervious to the desert heat. One such band are Monster Magnet, and this year has Napalm Records reissuing the band’s seminal 2004 album ‘Monolithic Baby!’ as not only a digital release, but also vinyl.

This is an album which has been out of print for quite some time now and those who like to collect their music on vinyl will find arguably one of Monster Magnet’s finest work. This vinyl will be released on an orange vinyl coupled with a white and black splatter pattern; yet, for those who want to dig deeper there will also be a limited-edition glow in the dark vinyl so that no matter how baked you are, you’ll always be able to find it in the dark. Furthermore, alongside the original 11 tracks, the purchaser will also get three cover versions which will be exciting stoner ridden versions of David Gilmour, Bob Calvert and The Velvet Underground.

For vinyl fanatics, this reissue of ‘Monolithic Baby!’ would fit perfectly into your collection of stoner rock with that spaced out psychedelic sound. However, these are limited edition, so you better get your vinyl loving claws ready to fight off the other fanatical stoners. Up in smoke we go!
