20 years has gone in the blink of an eye and who would have thought that Epica have been standing tall as one of the premier symphonic metal bands for two decades now? This year has both Nuclear Blast and Epica celebrating this epic milestone with the ‘We Still Take You with Us – The Early Years’ box set.

Yes, this is a box set that does exactly what it says on the tin, what the listener gets here are four discs covering ‘The Phantom Agony’, ‘We Will Take You with Us’, ‘Consign to Oblivion’ and ‘The Score – An Epic Journey’ with each album coming with extra tracks from different versions and remixes through to demo takes, singles and re-recorded versions. Furthermore, those who like a little extra will be able to get an Earbook version of this box set that will also come with a 36-page booklet as well as Epica ‘Live at Paradiso’ across two discs, a DVD and Blu-Ray of the show. This ‘Live at Paradiso’ will also be released separately, the review of which can be read at the link below.

As well as all this, fans of the vinyl persuasion will also be able to get their paws on a vinyl box set spread across 11 discs that will come with both black and transparent blue vinyl. However, those that purchase from the Epica shop exclusively will be able to covet gold vinyl.

For zealous fans of Epica, ‘We Still Take…’ is a Holy Grail box set, there is plenty to get your teeth into, but it does come with rather large price tag depending on which version you wish to purchase, yet for those mega fans of Epica, this will be an investment and something to brag about for years to come.
