Faded Shades: Fridays Not Enough

We got to ask Faded Shades a few Questions on the Go:

Welcome to Metal Digest!

 Please describe the band in a single sentence.

Faded Shades are an alt rock trio of South London gents mixing art school sensibilities with estuary charm and a dash of rock n roll swagger.

 What’s your latest project and what are you working on right now?

Our newest single is called Heartache Calling and it’s available right now to stream everywhere! We are currently working on a string of singles alongside Animal Farm Music with high hopes of scoring some high calibre recognition for creating a refreshing and unique blend of modern rock and roll! We also have many new tunes in the locker ready and waiting to hit the studio again with.

 How do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?

Anything!? Whether it’s a foot tapping smiler or a head in hands cryer we welcome any feeling that is evoked from our music! The most important thing is that you feel something, because that means you’ve actually listened to either the melody or the lyrics or something in the mix has triggered you to pay attention. Lots of people listen to music, but not many actually hear anything of any value. We advise sitting in a darkroom with headphones in to really tune into the souls of your favourite artists, or even better a speaker and beers with friends.

 Major influences: Who put you on this path?

Divine intervention! A hooded character came to us in a shared hallucination and granted us all passage into the rock n roll hall of fame. Either that, or two brothers had a dad mad into rock music and they met a geezer on the internet that shared the same passion.

 If you had to flee the country as a band, where would you choose to live?

USA all day! Pack up the RV and head out into cowboy land with jeans, stetsons and boots at the ready. Sling the phones in a nearby creek and live out our days as cattle wranglers. We would obviously blow the dust off an old acoustic and tune up the banjos for a new bluegrass Faded Shades!

 What’s the ‘wow factor’ that makes YOU decide which songs to keep, record and

It’s normally entirely based on how fun it is to play and jam. The feeling of writing a song that you want to play again straight after finishing it plays a massive part in what goes to the studio. The energy levels normally make them a decent live gig crowd pleaser as well.

 What’s the most hilarious band memory you can think of?

Probably drinking, farting and burping whilst talking like pirates whilst all on holiday together in Center Parcs. Typical lads becoming degenerate slobs and living on alcohol and fried food. It’s less a memory and more a way of life to be honest. Arghh!!

 What would be the title of the band’s biography?

“Fridays Not Enough” it’s an old saying of the band that was also adapted into a song and I think it encompasses our social lives pretty well. You can go give it a listen on our first album! It’s the first song we ever recorded in a full professional studio!

 What’s the next milestone you’d like to achieve as a band?

Our next milestone would be to go on tour as a support act for a much bigger band! Until then you can keep in touch with what we are up to via our social media accounts @fadedshadesband and also see everything Faded Shades via this link!
