About Titan Rage

How do get to know someone? You can stalk their socials but if you want to bypass small talk and get to know your favorite bands and artists beyond the surface level, this is the place to be. Sometimes the oddball questions allow you to learn the most interesting things about a person and see the varied, unique, and special qualities of a creative mind. Shall we?

Welcome to Metal Digest’s ABOUT. column

Please introduce the band in the most spontaneous way.

Hi, I’m Brandon, the singer of Titan Rage and our name is 1000% derived from anime. 👀

What’s something an outsider wouldn’t know about your band?

We’re all DEEPLY, SUPER nerdy about something whether it be anime, Lord of the Rings, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, animals, or video games. It definitely an influence in our song writing process.

What’s the career highlight you’re most proud of?

Our first show this year was an absolute banger and definitely one that blew past my expectations as a new band. Such a 180 from my previous band’s experience.

Lyrics that stuck with you?

It’s funny but Between the Buried and Me’s “Ad a dglgmut” is actually partly about the barrier of death metal vocals to the normies and the argument of “I don’t like it because I can’t understand it.” The first section of the song is all gibberish. That stuck with me a lot as I was starting out my death metal journey and trying to rope in my friends who never experienced heavy music shows to come and enjoy the entire ambiance. It’s really when I started to feel like my voice was a musical instrument.

What’s the phone app you use most?

Instagram and it’s a PROBLEM

What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?

I honestly love to just be an absolute slug, unshowered, unkempt, snacks on hand and binging a show.

Are you more of a “play music to live” or a “live to play music” type of person?

Live to play music for SURE. We’re all so multifaceted in this band, this is not the only pure ways of expression for us, but a lot culminates in the band.

How would your 10-year-old self-react to what you do now?

The boy who dreamed of entertaining his entire 4th grade class on the blocks at recess would be absolutely fucking stoked about current me.

What career advice would you give to young musicians in the rock and metal industry?

When you’re looking for a band to play with, make sure you also look for the dudes that you can vibe with and connect with at the most personal levels and make a bond happen. Being talented in a band only goes so far when you’re bickering with your band members every day. Make sure it works for your peace too.

If you could do it all over again, would you pursue the same career in music?

I would work a bit harder to find my the best fit for my musical tastes and expression when I first started. It’s hard to do but it’ll be so worth in the end when you work towards the best outcome.
