About Balls Gone Wild

How do get to know someone? You can stalk their socials but if you want to bypass small talk and get to know your favourite bands and artists beyond the surface level, this is the place to be. Sometimes the oddball questions allow you to learn the most interesting things about a person and see the varied, unique, and special qualities of a creative mind. Shall we?

Welcome to Metal Digest’s ABOUT. column

Please introduce the band in the most spontaneous way.

Three dudes having a lot of fun doing what we love!

What’s something an outsider wouldn’t know about your band?

Tom and I love classical music, a lot! And not a secret, but everybody should know that we think The Beatles were the best ever to do it, hahaha.

What’s the career highlight you’re most proud of?

The new record “Stay Wild”. It’s the record I did which makes me the most proud. After over 25 years making music this record is what I was trying to achieve since I was 14 years old. It took me some time, hahahahahaha. And I do love all the stuff I did in the last 20 plus years, but now is the time where I’m most confident with myself.

Lyrics that stuck with you?

Own lyrics I have to say “Hangman” of the new record. (The lyric video will be released on July 8th by the way) I like these lyrics a lot, because it handles depression, an illness which still is not focused on enough. Especially in these last two and a half years of the pandemic a lot of people fell victim to this illness, a lot of people in the music business as well, artist in general were left behind and some didn’t make it, that’s so sad. It still counts more like a weakness and not an illness.

What’s the phone app you use most?

Facebook / Instagram, the devil’s apps, hahahaha. It sucks too much time a day and I try not to look at my cell as often as I used to. Live the real life, not the fake digital one!

What’s your favourite way to spend a day off?

Sleep, relax, eat, drink. Write new music.  At home, I enjoy time with my family, especially my little son of 4 years.

Are you more of a “play music to live” or a “live to play music” type of person?

Live to play music, for sure. We have day jobs and families with kids and music is for sure a passion and not only a hobby, but we’re not living off of it. But without music wouldn’t be worth living! Music is life, energy and love.

How would your 10-year-old self-react to what you do now?

He would ask me why I’m not a wrestler in WWE, hahahahaha. My 13/14 year old me would be proud, I guess. But he would tell me to show some balls when I’m around 20 years old and try more to get it done and be a fucking Rockstar, hahahaha. And that I should have started to sing earlier.

What career advice would you give to young musicians in the rock and metal industry?

Always be yourself and do what you love because the people, the fans, will always know if it’s real or fake!

If you could do it all over again, would you pursue the same career in music?

My life is great as it is, for sure, but if I would know what I know now and be younger again, like 18, I would take more risks and be more out on the road then I was, for sure. And I would tell myself to start singing lead vocals earlier.
