This morning in the Metal Digest office we’re going back to the 80’s and blasting out a real power metal classic with ‘Keeper of the Seven Keys, Pt 1’, the 1987 album from Helloween. With this album, Kai Hansen who had sung on the previous ‘Walls of Jericho’ album was able to take a back seat and focus on guitar playing as Helloween unleashed the vocals of Michael Kiske onto the world. This allowed Helloween to take it very much to the next level as the band delivered one of the best, if not, THE best power metal album of all time as galloping rhythms and soaring vocals began to lay the template down for every Euro power metal to follow for the next 35 years. So this morning, there’s a masquerade, grab your mask and don’t be late because we’re cranking up the volume on this superb album, so take a trip with us, to future world!
