Halestorm have become one of the most successful hard rock groups of the 21st century, hitting the mainstream post-grunge/hard rock/heavy metal world with aggressive and hook heavy earworms and even giving the likes of Shinedown, Alter Bridge and Saving Abel a run for their money.
This year has Halestorm releasing their latest album ‘Back from the Dead’ and it continues to show just why Lzzy Hale is powerhouse vocalist and the recognisable voice of angst, anger, amore and armour; they are ready to fight alone or rally everyone around them and there are no better examples than the tracks ‘The Steeple’ and ‘Psycho Crazy’. The title track itself is the sixth single to reach number one on the Active Rock Charts and is it any wonder why? This track has a great impact from the start which continues to keep its pace throughout. Furthermore, there is a formula which works here, the old faithful recipe of verse, chorus, verse whilst the guitars sing out loud and proud backed by drumming which gives a full-on head banging rhythm. Halestorm may have been away, but they certainly are ‘back from the dead’, the lyrics are always delivered with a hard-hitting impact and there is even some innuendo with ‘I Come First’, a track that would empower any woman to get their rocks off! Whilst ‘Raise Your Horns’ is built for the live environment and would invoke an entire arena to come together as one.
‘Back from the Dead ‘ is an album that has everything, it is full of energy and emotion, and it is good to have Halestorm back where they belong. Welcome Back!
