Twisted Sister – ‘Stay Hungry’

Release Date
10/05/1984
Publisher
Atlantic Records
Genre
Heavy/Glam Metal

This morning in the Metal Digest office, we’re blasting out ‘Stay Hungry’, the 1984 huge anthemic album from Twisted Sister. Everything that Twisted Sister had been working for reached its zenith with ‘Stay Hungry’ through huge MTV heavy rotation tracks like ‘We’re Not Going to Take It’, ‘I Wanna Rock’ and ‘The Price’ alongside deeper cuts like ‘The Beast’ and ‘Burn in Hell’, it solidified Twisted Sister’s place in the heavy metal pantheon. This was an album which was glam enough to make it hugely accessible and scary enough to scare conservative American parents into the arms of the PMRC, but ‘Stay Hungry’ triumphed and stood tall as one of the best albums not just in its genre, but also heavy metal. So this morning, crank up the volume up and scream it out loud: “I WANNA ROCK!”
