Melodic Metal/Hard Rock

Frontiers Records has been providing the rock and metal world with excellent songwriters for years now, each one desperate to demonstrate their budding talent. One such songwriter is Marco Sivo who after years of writing for other people, Sivo has thrown his hat back in the ring for the first time since 2004 with Poison Rose who deliver their debut album ‘Little Bang Theory’.

With ‘Little Bang Theory’, Sivo has surrounded himself with exceptional musicians, from Edo Sala from Sunstorm, Aldo Lonobile from Edge of Forever, Andrea Seveso from Jorn and of course the in-house guy to go to at Frontiers Alessandro Del Vecchio. This means that Poison Rose have delivered some real quality with an album of contemporary hard rock which at times a bit of a power metal edge to it with Sivo serving up a voice that wouldn’t be out of place on an Avantasia or Edguy album because at times, you’d swear it was Tobi Sammet. This means that tracks such as ‘Devil (Knock My Door)’, ‘Set Us Free’ and ‘Eternally, Wild and Free’ show the real fire, passion and integrity that seasoned musicians are capable of as Poison Rose deliver a decent album of memorable songs.

This will sadly be an album which falls beneath the radar as the general mass media overlook a great album in favour of the usual tripe they peddle, but if you’re looking for some good contemporary hard rock, then this debut album from Poison Rose is a good shout.

"good contemporary hard rock"
