This afternoon in the Metal Digest office we’re cranking up the volume on ‘Sonic Temple’, the 1989 album from The Cult. With this album, The Cult continued to build on the hard rock success of ‘Electric’ as they continued their move away from gothic rock. Tracks such as ‘Fire Woman’, ‘Sweet Soul Sister’ and ‘Edie (Ciao Baby)’ are still played today on rock radio stations the world over showing the effect that The Cult had on people’s lives. Boosted through the powerful production of Bob Rock, ‘Sonic Temple’ helped turn a one time gothic band into one of the biggest bands on the planet as The Cult straddled the world with one foot in the alternative rock camp and the other in Sunset Strip. So this afternoon, turn the volume up loud and bring the temple down.
Come on in!
