This morning in the Metal Digest office, we’re blasting out a late 80’s heavy metal masterpiece with ‘Seventh Son of the Seventh Son’, the 1988 album from Iron Maiden. For Maiden, this album had it all, the big production, the cutting edge 80’s sounds, which Maiden get overlooked for whilst Priest get lambasted and most of all the big anthemic songs which still stand tall today. ‘Can I Play With Madness’, ‘The Evil That Men Do’, ‘The Clairvoyant’ and ‘Infinite Dreams’ are amongst some of Maiden fans favourite singles and that’s even before getting into the excellent album cuts, ‘Moonchild’, ‘Only the Good Die Young’ and the title track a true commercial peak for Iron Maiden and yet… it still wasn’t the best concept album of 1988…
