The only way to feel the noise is when its good and loud! Therefore this morning in the Metal Digest office we’re cranking up the volume on ‘Overkill’, the 1979 masterpiece from Motörhead. With this album, Motörhead blasted (literally) the punk overtones from their first album, turned up the rock n’ roll and showed audiences how loud, loud could be. From the rhythmic double bass pounding of the title track which laid the basis for nearly every thrash metal song in 1983 (looking at you Lars Ulrich) to more searching moments like ‘Capricorn’ and ‘Metropolis’, Motörhead suddenly became a force to be reckoned with. So this morning, wake everybody up within a five mile radius by showing them you have no class with a real heavy metal classic.
