There are many bands that deliver excellent albums of heavy metal which fall under the radar and then disappear into the realms of the cult album or even worse… the forgotten or lost album. One such band who sit firmly within the cult category are Invocator and this year has Hammerheart Records reissuing ‘Excursion Demise’, the bands 1991 album.
‘Excursion Demise’ was last available on vinyl way back in the mists of time in 1991, but now Hammerheart Records have made this available once again with the sound wonderfully remastered and given some much needed love. The real treat with this reissue comes for the CD lover as ‘Excursion Demise’ now comes as a Deluxe Edition featuring the original album on the first disc and a second CD containing the 1988 and 1989 demos ‘Genetic Confusion’ and ‘Alterations’ alongside a promo from 1991. Furthermore, ‘Excursion Demise’ will also be available digitally for those listeners who like to get their music streamed directly into their lugholes.
This should be enough to get the audiophiles amongst you getting all excited about the prospect of once again being able to own a real gem of an album in whatever format you choose to be your poison.
