This afternoon in the Metal Digest office, we’re blasting ‘Stained Class’ another stone cold classic from 1978 by Judas Priest. For Priest, this was the start of the band casting off the hippy, dippy shackles of 70’s psychedelia and beginning to fully embrace a burgeoning heavy metal sound. Tracks like ‘Exicter’, ‘Saints In Hell’ and the indomitable ‘Beyond the Realms of Death’ still sound as fresh today as they did in 1978 and although Priest would strip back further for their follow up album, ‘Stained Class’ remains a pivotal moment in Judas Priest history and a firm fan favourite to this day.
Come on in!
