This morning in the Metal Digest office, we’re blasting a real heavy metal classic with ‘Fire Down Under’, the 1981 album from Riot. The US band had gathered some attention in their local New York scene as well as Japan, but their sound was soon picked up in the UK which allowed Riot to jump onto the fledgling NWOBHM scene and British metal hoovered them up. ‘Fire Down Under’ was a turning point in Riot’s career and rightly so, it is an utterly fantastic album, so grab the volume control and turn it up, then grab your swords and tequila and let them carry you through the night!
