This afternoon we’re blasting ‘Difficult To Cure’, the 1981 album from Rainbow. This is the album which continued to see Rainbow’s move away from the 70’s heavy metal with Ronnie James Dio and into the more commercial hard rock sounds coming from early 80’s America in the shape of Foreigner, Survivor and Journey. To achieve this, Ritchie Blackmore brought in New York crooner Joe Lynn Turner and streamlined the sound down to radio-hit length and scoring endless radio play with ‘I Surrender’ and ‘Can’t Happen Here’. So this afternoon, crank it up loud and if you can’t get no release, crank it up further.
