This morning in the Metal Digest office, we’re blasting ‘Dreaming Neon Black’, the seminal 1999 album from Nevermore. In 1999, Jeff Loomis and Warrel Dane were in the middle of a purple patch, with the band releasing a string of albums of superb progressive metal. Although this is a rather sad, almost Shakespearean tragedy, ‘Dreaming Neon Black’ is one of the best album that Nevermore ever released. So this morning, crank it up loud and remember a time when Dane’s voice and Loomis’ writing ruled the airwaves.
