When Heir Apparent burst onto the scene in 1986 with ‘Grateful Inheritance’ their absolutely stunning debut album, the Seattle band were touted for greatness on the progressive/power metal scene. However, it was never to be, and the band folded for the first time in 1990. This year has Hammerheart Records digging into the vaults and reissuing that debut album to the world.

Even back in 1986, ‘Grateful Inheritance’ was a great sounding album and now Hammerheart Records have remastered that sound to be even sharper, crisper and wholeheartedly more accessible, delivered with the real care and passion needed when approaching a lost treasure of this kind. Sadly, ‘Graceful Inheritance’ is an album which has suffered from multiple aborted reissues leading to various album covers of grotesque O-Level art-project drawings. Thankfully, this reissue addresses that and finally restores the original artwork to its rightful place. Furthermore, this progressive/power masterpiece can now we acquired on your desired format, a deluxe edition for CD lovers and for vinylphiles, a limited-edition version available in four different colours, so get your fingers clickin’ online if you want one.

‘Graceful Inheritance’ is an excellent album of mid 80’s progressive/power metal and any fan of Queensrÿche, Crimson Glory and Iron Maiden should pick this up with immediate effect, it will certainly not disappoint.

"an excellent reissue of an 80's progressive/power metal gem"
