mighty music

A relaxed tete a tete with Confused about counterpoint, harmony, and fucking shit up.

Good evening and welcome to Metal Digest. Leaping in with the most obvious question first; How
the hell do you come up with so many new ideas for songs? Most Metal bands will put out an album
with at most 10 tracks; your latest release “Riot” has 17!

Writing the new album “Riot”; is it still as enjoyable a process to get into the studio working on new
material?

Hahaha! Well it was 22 songs but we pulled some back for an EP also I had been working on tracks for a while and just saved them and a few of the songs are songs I wrote back in the late ’80s and my drummer Arnold Garza said let’s record these and put them out so we did.

Always enjoyable just being in a studio with the guys. Great times.

There’s a distinct anti-state/anti-political content to your lyrics. Given the polarization of the
American (and indeed British) audience, how fine a line do you feel you have to tread to not alienate
a section of your potential listeners? Do you care if you piss some of them off?

Well that’s a great question there, when I write lyrics I make sure all understand it’s not about sides it’s about what I see happening and if someone reads it wrong, I can’t help them for that.

Away from the music, are you guys all keeping healthy and looking after yourselves mentally as well
as physically?

Yes, we are all staying healthy thank you for asking and I hope you and your family and metal family are staying healthy as well.

What issues facing the planet and humanity piss you off the most?

What pisses me off the most? Well stupid pisses me off the most and there’s a lot all over if you know what I mean

.
Back to the music, how many of the old songs still give you “the buzz” when playing them live?

I Love Hardcore our closers I wrote back in 1986 and Grains, Empire Of Rats, Chaos. Shit all of them are fun fucking songs with killer grooves. Haha

Outside of the USA, which city gives you the biggest crowd reaction/rips it up the most?
Well to be honest we have not gone overseas other the Puerto Rico which was a lot of fun. Looking to go overseas and would love to play for all you thrashers.

Who else should we be listening to?

Overt Enemy, Panteon, Unholy Desecration, XIL, Angkor Wat, Anialator Force Fed. Etc……

Thank you Metal Digest. cheers from Texas
