This time we’re bringing you Wicked Smile.

welcome to metal digest

What is your musical background and how did this lead to you creating the band?

I have grown up with a love for music. Early on I loved listening to bands such as Deep Purple,
Rainbow, The Sweet, KISS, Judas Priest, Van Halen, Dokken, Queensryche, TNT, Skid Row,
etc. I began learning guitar in High School and from the age of sixteen, I started playing in
bands. My first original band was called Cyclone Tracy. I then went onto other bands such as
Square One, Black Majesty & The Radio Sun. I have also performed many live shows with Paul
Laine (The Defiants/ex Danger) and I also play guitar in my daughter’s solo band Cassidy Paris.
I formed Wicked Smile in November 2019.

What aspect of your local scene do you most enjoy?

We have so much talent in Melbourne, Australia. So many of our bands are world-class. Our
country is huge and many of the large cities are spread out which unfortunately makes it tricky
to tour. For instance, it takes nine hours to drive from Melbourne to Sydney…..but we do it!

How have connections with other local bands or with the local community helped to build your

I formed my new band Wicked Smile with members I’d known and respected from the local
scene. For instance, the singer John from Black Majesty put me in touch with his cousin Danny
Cecati (ex Pegazus & Eyefear) who is the lead singer in Wicked Smile. I contacted bassist Glen
Cav (ex Virtue) because I always thought he was a great bass player and performer. We
auditioned for a drummer and Jason Tyro got the gig. Guitarist Dave Graham was recruited
after recommendations from black Majesty guitarist Hanny. I am still best friends with these my
former bandmates to this day.

What, in your eyes, makes your band unique?

I think the quality of our songs gives our band a big edge. The performances from each
member in the studio and on stage are also first class. For instance, the powerful voice of
vocalist Danny Cecati is a huge wow factor. The man is a star!

How do you plan to take your music career beyond your local area?

We have always seen Wicked Smile as a world-class band. We are already booked for
international live shows in 2022. Fingers crossed our U.K. tour in November 2022 happens
without any problems. We want to tour everywhere!
Our debut album ‘Wait For The Night’ will be released worldwide on September 24th.
