Mike Tramp is a famous old name in the hard rock scene. The vocalist originally rose to prominence in White Lion before embarking on a successful solo career. In celebration of this solo career, Tramp has delivered ‘Everything is Alright’ a collection of his greatest hits.

It is no secret that Tramp has always written from the heart about the wider issues in the world and his solo career has allowed him to expand on these sounds. ‘Everything is Alright’ is an excellent retrospective of Tramp’s solo career, it allows the listener to see not just how good of a songwriter Tramp actually is, but also all the nuances that go into each song as Tramp delivers the perfect blend of Danish Americana into each note and melody. This means that tracks such as ‘Cobblestone Streets’, ‘Trust in Yourself’, ‘The Road’ and ‘Give it All You Got’ have all the addictive sing-a-long qualities of the likes of Tom Petty and John Mellencamp with enough blue collar power to even bring in fans of Bruce Springsteen whilst systematically putting anything that Bon Jovi have written in the last decade to shame

However, Tramp’s solo career may not always drag in fans of White Lion, but Tramp doesn’t need that. This is a retrospective look at a career that doesn’t rely on past glories, it focuses very much in the present and with it, Tramp shows he is a master of his craft and not a washed up has-been peddling the same old shit. If this take on Americana and hard rock sounds appealing then it will be the best collection you’ll buy all year.
