Bubbling away in the Hungarian rock and metal scene are Before We Fall (BWF). The band have been delivering live performances in support of their debut EP ‘Doesn’t Seem Enough’ released at the back end of 2019 and now BWF are back with their latest EP ‘Healed By Fear’.
What BWF offer with this latest release is an EP of contemporary metal that provides the band with a large step forward in sound and musicianship. It shows the band growing, evolving and expanding on their sound by searching deep inside of themselves to create an EP of introspective tunes. Tracks such as ‘Close to the End’ and ‘For the Fallen Ones’ explore some pretty dark areas of the human psyche and this done through an enjoyable medium that can subvert the actual deep undertones. However, these songs don’t really have any staying power and as enjoyable as ‘Healed by Fear’, the songs are hardly memorable once this EP has finished playing. Yet, the good news is that ‘Healed By Fear’ does not outstay its welcome and therefore can be played immediately again and again thus proving its replayability.
Yeah, ok, there’s nothing new here; but this EP is enjoyable and fun whilst playing and any fan of modern sounding metal without frills an gimmicks will be happy to add it their playlists.
