Casper, Wyoming isn’t exactly the first place that springs to mind when one thinks of Metal. Then again, why the hell not? These four gents have the right mix of piss and vinegar and the talent to make nice-sized welt on the world. With only two songs thus far, this is a challenge, but here goes.
“1000 Years” is an arresting song about Lucifer being cast down from Heaven, all told in the first person. The vocals sound like they might be Mr. L. himself. Musically, it is powerful, yet fairly straightforward, but lyrically (especially with the video) it is a bit unsettling…in a good way.
“War” is a more complex, multi-layered powerhouse. This is the song that makes you buy the whole album without hearing it. I recently learned it was written twenty years ago dealing with mental warfare, although the lyrics are certainly open to interpretation. I strongly suggest you watch the video.
The EP “Written In Blood” is due some time this year. If these two songs are any indication, we are in for a treat.
