Many, many years ago in a galaxy far, far away three boys soon to become four decided to start up a hi-octane rock band paying tribute to the old days. Australian names like Rose Tattoo and AC/DC were on top of the list when the boys from Denmark started taking the first notes, adding Scandinavian flavors from bands like D-A-D and Backyard Babies what we had here was simply old-school rock’n’roll.
Metal Digest had a chat with Jonathan about straight to the bone rock and roll, living on the line and their upcoming plans.
Welcome to Metal Digest!
The time has come for LUCER to dig into the past and find what really mattered when you first started the band. Care to share the findings?
Vintage Rock’n’roll: How different would you say is rock n roll today than say, in the 50’s?
Rock N Roll today equals dedication, besides playing live a lot, every band should have a sense of marketing and the ability to put their name out there. Pure talent is not enough, you must also master the fine art knowing what your contribution to the world is – even if it’s just pure entertainment.
Living On The Line: What do you have to sacrifice to live the true rock n roll lifestyle?
Straight To The Bone: Which band or artist made the most impact in your life and career as a musician?
Oasis – the brothers of this band are the last true rock n rollers.
Dirty Job: If you could change 3 things about the music industry, what would you change?
1. Let’s start focusing on quality instead of quantity.
2. If talking about the rock and metal genre, the barriers between the general perception of what is “rock” or “metal” should be broken down further, and the focus should be on the songwriting rather than the style.
3. Give LUCER more airplay 😉
Where do you see the band in five years’ time?
LUCER would be recording and releasing more music, and tour around the world, playing for the rock n roll fans.
Thank you for the wonderful interview.
Until we meet again,
Line up: Lasse Bøgemark: Vocals & Bass Anders Bøgemark: Guitar Kristoffer Kristensen: Guitar Jonathan Nørgaard: Drums
